Custom orders are woven especially for you and have a lead time of approximately 2–3 weeks. This rug is woven from high-quality, phthalate-free PVC ribbon produced in Sweden and approved by REACH®. Free from harmful substances, the material is safe for use in food and toy production within the EU and USA.

PVC is exceptionally durable, colorfast, and easy to care for. It withstands daily wear, sunlight, and moisture without losing its shape or color, making it the perfect choice for both indoor and outdoor spaces. This strong yet flexible material gives each Pappelina rug its signature combination of function, beauty, and lasting quality.

Warp: Polyester
The warp is made from high-quality polyester, selected for its strength, stability, and flexibility. This durable material provides structure to the weave and helps the rug retain its shape over time. Resistant to moisture and stretching, polyester ensures lasting form and function.
Care Instructions
  • Vacuum regularly.
  • Gently remove stains with a soft damp cloth or sponge. Do not scrub.
  • Smaller rugs can be machine washed cold in a front-loading washing machine at max 30°C / 86°F — no spin cycle. Use an appropriately sized machine; as a guideline, a 70 × 250 cm rug fits a 6 kg machine.
  • Larger rugs should be cleaned with a mop or hand washed in a bathtub or large container.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Stretch edges evenly while wet.
  • Avoid folding welded edges as they may crack.
  • Hang to dry over a wide bar or several lines, or lay flat on a clean surface.

How it works

1. Choose your width

Our rugs are woven on traditional shuttle looms, which means each design has a fixed width. Simply pick the width that suits your space as your starting point.

2. Select your length

Next, choose the length you need within the available interval. Because each pattern has its own rhythm, some designs offer specific length ranges. We never cut through a motif to ensure the rug keeps its intended expression.

3. Woven just for you

Once your size is set, we weave your rug to order at our weavery in Leksand, Sweden. This made-to-measure process takes around 2–3 weeks. Slight size differences may occur due to the nature of our weaving process on traditional shuttle looms.

Some rooms call for a rug that fits with absolute precision. With our custom-size rugs, your rug is woven to the exact length you need, creating a seamless fit in where our standard sizes may fall short.

Each rug is woven to order at our local weaving mill in Leksand, Sweden, using traditional shuttle looms. While the widths follow the fixed format of the looms, the length is tailored to you, allowing for a perfect match to your unique space.
